Junior Frontend Developer

Location

The Midlands, United Kingdom

Type

Full time (Flexible hours)

Salary

Based on hours and experience

We’re on the lookout for a Midlands based remote Junior Frontend Developer able to commit to anything from 4-5 days per week.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small, tight-knit team of creatives and developers working remotely with businesses all over the country. We create conversion-focused websites for clients in all sectors, with a focus on the property and hospitality sectors. We're passionate, talented and always looking to improve and to keep up to date with the latest technology. You will work on exciting projects in which you will get a real sense of involvement, working with fellow developers and creatives.

A standard day is likely to involve developing changes into existing client websites, either built with WordPress or with the 'headless' development architecture using Sanity as the CMS, as well as working on new 'headless' digital platforms with the core development team.

With the company shifting away from using WordPress on new projects in recent years, there will be a natural shift to working solely on 'headless' projects as we migrate clients across to that architecture and away from their custom WordPress websites. This offers a clear path to advancing your skills in modern, headless development.

Responsibilities

  • Developing changes into existing bespoke WordPress websites and 'headless' websites
  • Assisting the core development team on 'headless' digital platforms
  • Developing new 'headless' websites as experience is gained
  • Being actively involved in the full project process, from the initial research phase to go-live and everything in between
  • Speaking to clients in order to understand their needs and provide solutions

Required skills

  • Bespoke WordPress development
  • Core understanding of PHP, MySQL and JavaScript
  • Basic usage of Figma
  • Basic Git knowledge

Non-essential but useful skills

  • Basic usage of Nuxt/Vue.js
  • Basic usage of Tailwind CSS
  • Basic knowledge of Netlify

Ideal personality traits

  • An eye for detail
  • Understanding of basic UX principles
  • Clean coder
  • A proactive problem solver
  • Always up to date with the latest web trends

Company benefits

  • Remote working
  • Flexible hours
  • Up to 25 days holiday annually (depending on days p/w) plus bank holidays
  • Social events and meet-ups
  • A pension scheme
